Alonjero Sickle

The Hoz del Alonjero or Cuevo river, located between the Tosca reservoir and the Solán de Cabras Spa, is a real natural spectacle. The erosive action of the Cuervo River has created a deep gorge that divides in two the original millstone, leaving the Muela de San Cristóbal to the north and the Muela del Rebollar to the south.

The main reason to reach this remote spot is its impressive landscape. Here, the terrain is characterized by steep walls and forms of karst modeling, in whose hollows inhabit, among other animals, griffon vultures.

This impressive gorge offers a breathtaking landscape, where geological formations of great interest are intertwined with a lush Eurosiberian forest, formed by linden, birch and hazelnut trees, mixed with the typical pine forests of the mountains. In this unique ecosystem, flora and fauna blend together, inviting exploration and contemplation. Iconic formations such as the Puntal de Sotonegro and the Cola del Potro complete a landscape that invites you to lose yourself in its grandeur.

The gorge of the Cuervo River not only dazzles with its natural beauty; it is also a place steeped in history. In it stands the Celtiberian castro of the castle of the Seven Counts and from the top of the hill, you can see the Cruz del Solán and the old royal path that led to the Royal Spa of Solán de Cabras, adding a historical touch to the environment.
