Pozo del Pino Waterfalls

The Pozo del Pino Waterfalls are a natural treasure that invites you to explore the beauty of the Guadiela River just a few kilometers from its source. This set of three waterfalls is located in a privileged environment, accessible through a path that begins in the town of Beteta, following the traditional path down to the orchards.

The geomorphological interest of this area is remarkable, large and small tuffaceous buildings of great beauty and fragility appear along the entire route, forming waterfalls and dams where cold and crystalline water flows. A particular case of travertine formation are those that are generated transversally in the riverbed, creating natural dams characteristic of this upper part of the Guadiela River, by the accumulation of plant debris, on which precipitates the calcium carbonate dissolved in the water.

The Guadiela River, like other rivers in the area, has been used by humans since ancient times to satisfy their needs. Along the route, it is possible to contemplate the remains of an old light mill, which supplied electricity to the town of Beteta in the early twentieth century, and the irrigation canals that served to irrigate part of the orchards of Beteta, through a system of canals that are still visible today.

The Pozo del Pino Waterfalls are not only a place to enjoy nature, but also a journey through time, where every step reveals the harmony between human beings and the environment.
