Real Balneario de Solan de Cabras - Beteta: Mineral Waters

Solan de Cabras Royal Spa Resort

The Real Balneario de Solán de Cabras is located in a place of singular beauty in the heart of the Serranía de Cuenca, on the banks of the Cuervo River. Located just a few kilometers from Beteta, this spa is famous for the purity of its mineral-medicinal waters, officially recognized for their curative properties since the 18th century.

The history of this emblematic place dates back at least to 1775, when King Carlos III ordered the construction of the spa, laying the foundations of a place that, for centuries, has been synonymous with health and wellness. Shortly thereafter, the waters of Solán de Cabras were declared of public utility and of mineral-medicinal interest, becoming a point of reference for those seeking their therapeutic benefits. In the early 19th century, the spa was declared a Royal Site and was visited by Ferdinand VII and his wife Maria Josefa Amalia of Saxony, in search of an heir.

In the 20th century, Mr. Baldomero Sanz, a neighbor of Beteta and owner of the baths, founded the mineral water bottling plant that still operates there today, allowing Solán de Cabras water, known for its mineral-medicinal properties, to be distributed nationally and internationally.

Surrounded by a natural environment of breathtaking beauty, the Real Balneario de Solán de Cabras invites visitors to enjoy its landscapes, ideal for relaxing and disconnecting. From the imposing geological formations to the wealth of flora and fauna, the area around the spa is perfect for hiking routes or simply immersing oneself in the tranquility offered by this unique corner of nature.
